01. four questions

The fragrances

01.1What actually is missd.?

queensland
three numbers filled

A small fragrance house run by one person in Queensland. I blend each scent by hand from fragrance oils and perfumer's alcohol, let it sit, and bottle it in 50 ml runs.

Every release is built around something that actually happened. A place, a month, a day I remember the smell of. The number on the bottle is the year it happened.

01.2How strong are they, and how long do they last?

40% · extrait
6–8 hrs typical
2–3 sprays

All three are blended at 40% and labelled extrait de parfum. On most people that's six to eight hours on skin and longer on a collar or a jumper.

They're not designed to fill a room. no '13 is the loudest of the three and two sprays is plenty. no '19 sits close to the skin on purpose. If you want to be noticed from across a room, it isn't the one.

01.3Are they for men or women?

no gendered line
never will be

Neither. Nothing here is split by gender and nothing will be. A milk and sandalwood accord doesn't know who's wearing it.

If you want a rough steer: no '17 is the easiest to wear in public, no '13 is the one people comment on, and no '19 is the one you wear for yourself.

01.4What's in them?

full inci
printed on the carton

Perfumer's alcohol, fragrance concentrate, and a small amount of water. The full ingredient list including IFRA-declarable allergens is printed on every carton.

Nothing is tested on animals. If you have a known sensitivity, patch test on your inner arm and give it a day before wearing it properly.

02. five questions

The numbers

02.1What does no '17 mean?

year of the memory
not the release

It's the year the thing in the bottle happened. no '17 is a January afternoon in 2017 spent waiting for a barge at Inskip Point. It went on sale in 2026.

The number doubles as the catalogue code, so no '17 is M—017 on the label. One number, one memory, never reused.

02.2Why don't the numbers run in order?

'13, '17, '19 filled
six numbers open

Because memory doesn't. The record is a list of years, and I fill one in whenever I finally get a blend right. The three that exist happen to be 2013, 2017 and 2019.

The empty rows on the record page aren't teasers. They're years I have something for and haven't cracked yet. Some of them may stay empty permanently. see the record

02.3What's the recorded: line on the label?

place, month
year lives in the number

Where and when it happened, as in recorded: k'gari, january. The year is left off because the product number already carries it.

Underneath it the label also carries the batch, the concentration, the volume, and a blank line marked decanted. That one's for you to fill in, or not.

02.4What is n/a?

no year
no place
unscheduled

The record with no data. No year, no place, blank recorded: field, black and white label. It's the one release that isn't tied to a memory, and it's deliberately unpleasant.

There's no date on it. It shows up in the record as unscheduled and it'll stay that way until it's done.

02.5Will sold-out numbers come back?

batches re-run
formula doesn't change

Yes. A number is permanent even when the batch isn't. When 001 runs out, 002 follows with the same formula. The batch number on your bottle tells you which run you have.

A sold-out number can be a few weeks away rather than a few days. Sign up on the product page and you'll get one email when it's back, and nothing else. see q. 05.1

03. four questions

Ordering and shipping

03.1Where do you ship?

australia only
for now

Australia only at the moment. Alcohol-based fragrance is treated as dangerous goods by air, and getting that right internationally is a job I haven't done yet.

Orders go out from Queensland and land in 2–4 business days in the capitals, a bit longer regionally. Free over $75.

03.2Can I return a full bottle?

30 days
opened is fine
postage on me if faulty

Within 30 days, opened or not, for a full refund. Email with your order number and I'll send a return label. Half-empty bottles are fine. You can't know if you like something from one wearing.

If it arrives damaged or leaking, don't bother returning it. Send a photo and a replacement goes out the same day.

03.3Why does an order sometimes take longer?

6 weeks maceration
non-negotiable

Every batch sits for six weeks after blending before it's filled. That's when the sharp alcohol edge drops away and the blend settles. Selling it early would be selling a worse product.

Anything in stock ships the next business day. If a number has gone to backorder, the product page says so before you pay, with the date.

03.4Do you do gift wrapping?

no wrapping
note at checkout
no prices in the box

No wrapping, because the carton is already the nicest thing I could make it. There's a note field at checkout and I'll write it on the card by hand.

Nothing in the box has a price on it. Tick the gift box at checkout and the receipt is emailed to you instead.

04. four questions

Wearing and keeping

04.1Where should I spray it?

two sprays
don't rub

Two sprays, at the base of the neck and the inside of one elbow, onto skin that isn't bone dry. Moisturised skin holds fragrance for hours longer than dry skin.

Don't rub your wrists together. It shears the top notes off and you lose the first fifteen minutes, which on no '17 is most of the point.

04.2Why can't I smell it after an hour?

nose fatigue
normal
ask someone

You've gone nose-blind to it. It's still there. Your brain has filed it as background. Ask someone next to you before you reach for a third spray.

This happens hardest with the soft, skin-close ones. no '19 disappears on the wearer within the hour and is still perfectly obvious to anyone hugging you.

04.3How should I store it?

dark
cool
not the bathroom

Upright, in the box, somewhere dark and reasonably cool. Not on a windowsill and not in the bathroom. Heat and light break a fragrance down faster than anything else.

Sealed it keeps for years. Once opened, expect around three years before the top notes start to flatten.

04.4Mine smells different to the sample I had

skin chemistry
batch variation
both real

Two likely reasons. Skin chemistry is the usual one. The same blend reads sweeter or sharper depending on who's wearing it, and there's nothing to fix there.

The other is batch. Natural materials vary between deliveries and I don't correct that away, so 002 can sit slightly differently to 001. If yours smells wrong rather than just different, email me the batch number off the label and I'll look into it.

05. two questions

Batches and holding

05.1How does a batch work?

blended by hand
six weeks resting
numbers stay, batches close

Every number is made in batches. A batch gets blended, sits in the dark for six weeks q. 03.3, then gets filled and labelled by hand. It opens, and when it's gone it closes. By then the next one is usually already resting.

The number never leaves the record. The batch line on your label says which run yours came from, and batch 001 only happens once.

05.2What does holding one get me?

$20 now
$80 at the drop
$100 all in, not $110

$20 sets aside one bottle from batch 001 with your name on it. When the batch opens you hear first, before the waitlist, and $30 comes off the bottle, so you pay $80 at the drop instead of $110. Yours ships the day it opens, and the $20 is refundable until then.

It's for people who already know which one they want. If you'd rather wait and see, the waitlist is free and sends one email. hold one
